About Me




My name is Jack Scher, I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University in Israel. I'm passionate about the natural world, and it has shaped my entire life. From growing up on a farm in the French countryside to encountering incredible wildlife in the Pacific Northwest, I've developed a deep love for nature. However, I've also witnessed the impacts of human activities on our environment, which fueled my interest in environmental studies.

In high school, I delved into geography, earth science, and environmental studies, learning about the Anthropocene—the era when human activities began significantly affecting the planet. This led me to pursue a geography degree at the University of British Columbia, where I explored environmental issues and conducted research on water management strategies in Vancouver.

Now pursuing a master's degree at Tel Aviv University, I focus on analyzing environmental issues in Israel, a small and arid country with a remarkable water management system. Through my studies, I aim to understand how Israel can become a global leader in water technologies, integrating water management with urban, agricultural, and infrastructure concerns.

On this blog, I want to share my knowledge and experiences, both from school and personal exploration. I believe there are many engaging ways to learn, so I'll provide captivating content and intriguing videos. For instance, I'll start with a video on the vital role of wolves in Yellowstone National Park—a topic that resonates with me and has been taught by professors in both my bachelor's and master's programs
